Monxo López is a curator and urban ecologist based in the South Bronx. He is the Curator of Community Histories at the Museum of the City of New York.
His work brings public history into conversation with urban ecologies: the social, environmental, and political relationships that give places their life. He is a founding member of South Bronx Unite and Mott Haven–Port Morris Community Land Stewards, and serves on the board of the Cooper Square Community Land Trust.
Monxo holds a Ph.D. in political science from the CUNY Graduate Center and an MA from Université Laval in Québec. He lives in Mott Haven, the South Bronx.
